This is my first update in 9 months, rubbish I know. I've been very busy and have tended to keep my main site updated rather than here. Although my main site is currently down while I find a better hosting company.

Anyway, a quick illustration I made last week in response to the question 'what would make you switch from Facebook and start using Google+?'

At work the last couple of weeks I designed this website to increase awareness of child slavery in the cocoa trade business. It's a fun site where you're free to type in the harshest, most obscene message you can think of and it 'choco-coats' it into something much nicer (and funnier). It's the first chance I've had to create a site by myself and I really enjoyed the brief.

I've not updated for a while as I'm working fulltime as a designer now at Lean Mean Fighting Machine but I still find time to work on the occasional freelance job.

A few weeks ago I started a placement at Lean Mean Fighting Machine, an advertising agency based in London. I'm really enjoying my time with them and so far I've been lucky to work on a variety of briefs.

I've just finished the cover for the children's book 'Something Odd...' which will be available to buy in September. The book was slightly delayed while I finished my final year but uni but now it's almost ready for the printers and I'm really pleased with how it's looking.

For a recent Uni project I collaborated with designer Danny Pinhas to create the record and single design for the Brian Eno and David Byrne classic My Life In the Bush Of Ghosts.
We sourced a type of iridised glass that produced brilliant effects when photographed in certain lighting conditions and from different angles.
The results were a departure from my usual style and photography is definitely something I aim to do more of.

I recommend if you're in the area you pop in and have a look at the brilliant variety of items they sell including clothes, artwork, keyrings, badges, cool sock-puppets and other quirky, unique things. Hastings needs more shops like this!
